There are many badges the girls can earn with their troop or on their own. The Cadette Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting has many of the badges and their requirements.  You can also ask your leader for details.

Journeys

Breathe!—A wind farm, an environmental scientist, or experiments using wind teach girls about the air we breathe. Cadettes can work together to complete their Breathe! Journey by planting an indoor garden, campaigning against smoking, or pushing for clean-air initiatives in their community.

The Hudson Highlands Nature Museum usually offers a Cadette Breathe Journey Workshop in November/December.

Media Journey – Taking a critical look at media from movies to music to TV, Cadettes learn how to reshape negative messages into positive ones. As they continue on the MEdia Journey, they may re-write hurtful song lyrics, start a blog about movies, or use social media to combat stereotypes.

aMAZE! Journey — Developing healthy relationships, navigating cliques, and moving beyond stereotypes are major themes in aMAZE! The Twists and Turns of Getting Along. Cadettes team up on projects with younger girls, senior citizens, or classmates to share their new friendship-building skills.

There are also new journeys and new badges to work on.

Leadership Awards

Working with Brownie Troop, Cadettes help them through each of their journeys.

Silver Award

The Silver Award is the highest award a Cadette can earn in scouting. Girls need to have completed one Cadette Journey, be in 6th, 7th or 8th grade and be a registered Girl Scout. Going for the Girl Scout Silver Award—the highest award a Girl Scout Cadette can earn—gives you the chance to do big things and make your community better in the process

Uniform

From Cadettes on up, the same beige uniform, vest or sash, is used. Girls keep the same tab from now on as well.

The Girl Scouts USA website downloadable pdf  will show you where insignia/patches should be placed:

Sash or Vest is up to the troop.  The few items we require are the blue insignia tab, WAGGGS pin and membership pin. To march in the Memorial Day Parade we require the tab and pins, a PLAIN white shirt and khaki bottoms (shorts, skort, skirt, pants).
